NOAA 06 Space Environment Monitor-1 (SEM-1) Medium Energy Proton and Electron Detector (MEPED) Re-processed Particle Count Rates, Fluxes, and Model Fields, 1 min Data

ResourceID
spase://NOAA/NumericalData/POES/6/SEM/MEPED/KeyParameter/PT1M

Description

TIROS/NOAA SEM MEPED Reprocessed Data Archive.
This is the Reprocessed Version of the Medium Energy Proton Electron Detector, MEPED, Data Archive from the TIROS/NOAA Spacecraft. The raw Data from the NOAA Archive have been processed to 1 min Resolution. Magnetic Field Parameters including Geocentric Solar Magnetospheric, GSM, Bx, By, Bz, B/Bmin, and L Shell Values are derived by using four Magnetic Field Models:

  • International Geomagnetic Reference Field, IGRF,
  • Tsyganenko 1989, T89,
  • Tsyganenko 1996, T96, and
  • Tsyganenko 2001, T01.

The T89, T96, and T01 Magnetic Field Models have been driven with Solar Wind Input Parameters and Geomagnetic Indices obtained from the OMNI-2 Data Set. Detector Counts, Omnidirectional and Perpendicular Electron and Proton Fluxes are archived. Processing was done by: S.F. Fung, L.C. Tan, and X. Shao, Space Physics Data Facility, Goddard Space Flight Center, NASA, Greenbelt, MD 20771, USA, e-mail: Shing.F.Fung@nasa.gov.
