Description

The Solar Wind Analyser - Heavy Ion Sensor (SWA-HIS). The instrument of SwRI (Southwest Research Institute) allows the
independent determination of the major charge states of oxygen and iron (up to 9) and a coarse mapping of the three-dimensional velocity
distribution of some prominent minor species. Also, pick-up ions of various origins, such as weakly-ionized species
(C+, N+, Ne+, Mg+, Si+, etc.), should be measured. The sensor is sun pointing.
