The Low Energy Ion Detector (LEID) is present on the polar spacecraft (Double Star 2) only. The instrument performs measurements of the energy spectrum, the velocity distribution function and the differential flux of low energy ions in the polar regions.
This data sets contains Double Star 2 LEID summary parameters at 1 min resolution. These parameters include the instrument status and several moments (ion density and velocity, and parallel and perpendicular ion temperature).
