The high-resolution Fourier transform infra-red spectrometer (Bruker IFS 120M) installed by ISEE in 1995 at the Rikubetsu observatory, and operations ware suspended in 2009. A new FTIR instrument (Bruker IFS 120/5HR) was installed by NIES in 2013. These instruments can monitor the vertical distribution of atmospheric molecules, such as O3, HCl, HNO3, and HF.
