Katherine civilian airport observatory (14.5S, 132.5E) is one of the observation and climate data sites in Australian bureau of Meteorology (BOM), and located in the northern territory, Australia. During Darwin Area Wave Experiment (DAWEX, Oct-Dec 2001), radiosonde soundings had been conducted through collaboration between Kyoto University, BOM, Monash University and the University of Adelaide. In addition, ground-based measurements by all-sky imager (OH, O2, PI: U Illinois) and MF radar (PI: U Adelaide) also were coodinated in this observatory. For details, see Tsuda et al.,(2004) and Hamilton et al.,(2004).
