TIMED GUVI Nightside Cylindrical Composite Disk Images

ResourceID
spase://NASA/DisplayData/TIMED/GUVI/Nightside_Cylindrical_Disk

Description

This composite image is produced from GUVI radiance data (Level 1C) where the SZA > 95 deg. (nightside) for a complete day mapped onto the globe. It is a composite of the O I 130.4 nm emission (blue), O I 135.6 nm (green), and LBH Short (140 - 150 nm) (red). White color indicates emission from particles in aurora (all colors), pink areas generally indicate particle precipitation (SAA) or solar glint, blue emissions indicate typical nighttime recombination emissions.
