Vega 2 Magnetic Field Data (1 min), Halley Comet

ResourceID
spase://NASA/NumericalData/Vega2/MISCHA/FLYBY/PT1M

Description

This product contains 1-minute magnetic field data for intervals of the closest approach of the Vega 2 spacecraft to Halley comet. Magnetic field data are in SE coordinate system, while spacecraft positions are in cometocentric (solar) ecliptic coordinates, CSE. Magnetic field data are presented in spacecraft-centered solar ecliptic (SE) coordinate system as Bxse, Bzse, Byse: * Bxse is directed from the spacecraft to the Sun. * Bzse is directed along the Z axis of the Solar Ecliptic system (to ecliptic pole). * Byse completes the right handed set and B=sqrt(Br^2+By^2+Bz^2). CSE (CometoCentric ecliptic coordinate system) for the spacecraft position: * Origin is at comet position, x-axis from comet to the Sun, z-axis to ecliptic northpole. * The (x,y)-plane is parallel to the ecliptic plane.
