The scalar Overhauser magnetometer was provided by
the Laboratoire d'Electronique de Technologie et d'Instrumentation in
Grenoble. It determines proton precession frequency (and hence field
magnitude) once per second, and has an absolute accuracy better than
0.5 nT.
