Hinode is a Japanese spacecraft making high resolution
observations of the sun at optical, EUV and X-ray wavelengths. Scientific
foci include solar magnetic fields and coronal heating. Hinode was launched
on September 22, 2006 (UT) into a low altitude, sun-synchronous orbit.
Its pre-launch name was Solar-B.
